I FINALLY made a real-life friend today! We took the kids to the park near the apartment, and there was another Army wife with kids there. We started talking and exchanged numbers so that we can meet there again for the kids to play. Guess what? She is from South Carolina- no wonder we got along so well. It was nice to meet a fellow southerner. I don't have anything against people from the North or the West, but if you get two southerners together they are bound to hit it off. We commiserated about Texas' lack of certain southerner necessities such as: cheese grits, Duke's mayonaise, and Tetley sweet tea ( REAL tea, not instant). It was nice. Now I'm looking forward to our next trip to the park!
We went to the bank today to get a money order to pay the rent. I ran inside and left the kids in the van with Matt. When I came back, Livie needed to potty. After I got back from taking her in to the bathroom, Samie started saying he needed to go, too. Well, I go back in the bank for the third time now, just so that he can use the bathroom. When I lifted him on to the potty, he looked at me with those big, bright blue eyes and said, "Mama, I had to p*ss like racehorse." Oh my gosh! I did not quite know what to say other than, "You've been listening to Daddy lately, huh?" It didn't stop there. DH took him to the bathroom at home and when they came out Samie announced, "I sharted!" For those of you who don't know, a "shart" is when you think you need to pass gas, but then you have to change your clothes. My husband knew he was in trouble when Samie repeated that one.
Well, just a short post tonight. It has been a very long day. Catch up tomorrow!
